GMI is a
faith-based organization that aims to minister to the whole person. GMI’s
main
objective is to provide temporary and emergency aid, in the name of Christ, to
persons living in Wilkes County and surrounding area. We are a 501(c)3
corporation and can receive donations of money or items for our Thrift Store, Food Pantry,
Home Center or other projects.

The Thrift Store has beautiful slightly worn clothes for sale. Come and shop
Monday, Friday and Saturday's 9:00 - 12:00.The Home
Center has household items and books for sale and is open Monday, Friday and
Saturday 9:00-12:00. We had the
Grand Opening,
Friday, October 15, 2010.
The Food Pantry is open for food distribution to
eligible persons on the first and third Tuesdays 9:00 - 12:00. See latest Food

GMI went to El Salvador the summer of 2010 to work with a
church there and establish a "Thrift Store" there. Check our Ministries page.
In May 2011 we sent over 2,000 pounds of clothes to El Salvador.
GMI recently received the Corporate Sponsor of the year from the Georgia
Department of Corrections for help given to Wilkes Pre-Release Center
(see news).
