God's Marketplace, Inc.
God’s
Marketplace, Inc. is an umbrella organization organized exclusively for charitable and educational
purposes. We are a 501(c)3 corporation.
The
purpose of this corporation is:
-to Support faith-based
initiatives
-to operate a community
Food Pantry
-to operate a Thrift Store
-to engage in other
community support functions that are not supported by other agencies groups.
How God’s
Marketplace Operates
· Participating
churches make monthly contributions
· Donations
are received from individuals, businesses, and organizations
· Donations
are accepted in the form of food, clothes, furniture, and other household items.
· The
center is staffed by participating church volunteers.
· Services
are rendered in the form of emergency food and thrift store items.
· Recipients
are interviewed before assistance is extended.
God’s Marketplace,
Inc. works with other organizations in the community (such as Wilkes County
Department of Family and Children’s Services, Mental Health, and Community
Connections).
God’s Marketplace, Inc. Board of Directors
The Board of
Directors which establishes GMI policies is comprised of individuals from
participating area member churches as well as members of community
organizations. The Board meets quarterly to address issues and to resolve
problems so that the area needs can be met efficiently and effectively.
GMI is staffed by
volunteers under the direction of a Director named by the Board.
God’s Marketplace,
Inc. is a non-profit 501(3)c corporation under the laws of the State of Georgia.
The Board of Directors meets monthly
on the second Thursday of each month.

Margaret and James Jones, The News-Reporter.
