Marketplace
God’s
Marketplace, Inc. is an umbrella organization organized exclusively for charitable and educational
purposes.
The
purpose of this corporation is:
-to Support faith-based initiatives
-to operate a community Food Pantry
-to operate a Thrift Store
-to engage in other community support functions that are not supported by other agencies groups.
The following Ministries are supported by the Thrift Store and other gifts to God's Marketplace.
1. Monthly Support of the Food Pantry: God's Marketplace gives money to purchase food for give away in the
Food Pantry.
2. Prison Ministry: God's Marketplace strives to provide each man paroled
from Wilkes Pre-release Center with a nice pair of pants and shirt.
3. Haiti: GMI Thrift Store donates clothes to be sent to Haiti
4.
Ukraine: GMI has donated a large box of clothes to a church in the
Ukraine and will strive to send a box a year to this church for distribution to
needy families in that country.
5. Animal Shelter: GMI donates used T-shirts to the Wilkes Animal Shelter
for their use in washing animals and for use as bedding.
6. Personal Care Homes: GMI donates clothes to folks in Wilkes County
personal care homes who in most cases do not have relatives near by to help them
with additional clothing.
7. Shawl Ministry: Seeks to provide
encouragement to folks who have or are undergoing sickness or loss, through a
shawl that has been prayed over by the GMI Shawl
Ministry committee.
8. Guatemala: Clothes from the Thrift Store are sent to needy persons.
